The Swanage Triathlon Festival is set in the seaside town of Swanage which resides in an area of outstanding beauty know as The Isle of Purbeck in Dorset.

The first triathlon hosted here was by Off-Beat Events way back in 1986.  Challenging Events have taken over the running of the event for 2018 season and we plan to keep the festival’s proud tradition of a well run, friendly but challenging event.

The Transition area overlooks Swanage Bay with amazing views across the Purbecks towards Old Harry Rocks, the eastern gateway to the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site.

The event is known for its stunning views.  The bike course has a mix of steady climbs with some of the steepest descents in Dorset.  The run course is a tough trail climb up Ballard Down towards Old Harry Rocks.

The reward is the awesome views at the top!

New for 2018 will be a Long swim on Saturday early evening. There is also an Aquathlon,  This will be a 750m sea swim and the run will give you amazing views of Old Harry rocks, which takes part just after the Triathlon Start on Sunday.
